When designing new products, basysPrint takes key environmental issues into account.
As a process, UV plate processing is probably the most ecology friendly platemaking technology.
- As for chemical processing, it is stable and easy-to-maintain with very wide processing tolerances. The high chemistry latitude in the processor is up to three times longer than digital plates.
- It uses ecology friendly processing chemistry (low alkali, soap like solution that can be poured down the drain; no contamination with heavy metals, silicones or other hazardous components).
- Chemistry consumption is very low (20-50 ml per m²)
- Equipment energy consumption is very low (2KWH versus 8,3 KWH with thermo plates)
- The free choice of plate types and plate suppliers allows local supply, reduces transport.
Eco-objectives. Reducing the recycling cost of basysPrint products and solutions, meeting environment related product standards and customer requirements and minimizing the environmental impact during product life cycle are basysPrint’s eco-goals.
Design strategies. basysPrint aims to attain its eco-objectives through raw material substitution or reduction, process efficiency improvement and energy usage, as well as life cycle and product disposal optimization.
