CtP is well known for eliminating many of the processing steps of printing plate exposure. It is also known for reducing the associated costs: creation of film, stripping and imaging on the plate,… etc. With processes based on laser technology, however, this cost advantage is lost due to the high cost of materials (printing plate, chemicals, disposals etc.).

With CtP for UV-sensitive plates it’s different. Instead of switching to dedicated CtP plates, you simply use your inexpensive UV-sensitive plates and existing processor.
