Brilliant screening thanks to super cells
Super cell screening is a method to increase the number of grayscales in an image. The so-called super cells comprise a defined number of individual screen dots, depending on the resolution of the screening. Within each super cell, the individual dots are produced with varying numbers of randomly scattered exposure dots (shown as dark-red pixels in the diagram). By using this method, it is possible to achieve grayscales in a super cell – something which could never be attained with identical screen dots (up to 4096 grayscales).
